Walibi Belgium opened in 1975 as Walibi. The owners began to acquire other parks over the next few years, and the park was renamed to Walibi Wavre, after the town where it is based. In 1998, Premier Parks purchased the entire Walibi chain, and three years later the park was rebranded as Six Flags Belgium. However, due to financial problems, Premier was forced to sell the European parks in late 2004, and the park became known as Walibi Belgium. Confused yet?
