Leisureland Funworld 2007
Galway, Ireland

Leisureland, in Salthill, Galway is a unique entertainment and health and fitness facility situated on Ireland's longest seaside promenade. Or rather that's how the marketing people describe it; in plain English, it is a gym with a twenty-five metre swimming pool and water slide that, during the summer months, plays host to a moderately sized funfair behind the building. The water slide and building can be seen in the right hand side of the Overview photograph below.

The fair out the back is marketed as Leisureland Funworld, and the concession is held by the Perks family, who have been involved in the Irish leisure industry since the beginning of the century. In previous years the promoters have brought in coasters from other companies, but this year they've bought their own shiny new Wild Mouse. The current line-up of attractions is captured in its entirety below, with the exception of the Ferris Wheel and a handful of stalls. As perhaps a sign of the times, none of the rides take cash; tokens are on sale from a few locations around the grounds.

Further information on the show can be found on the official web site.
