St Patrick's Day Festival 2005

Dublin, Ireland

After the horrendous traffic jams caused by the St Patrick's Day amusement rides last year, the festival organisers decided to only allow the use of Merrion Square, keeping Custom House Quay free for traffic. The second batch of rides, therefore, were set up in Bray, about ten miles from Dublin city centre. There is no shortage of space along the Bray sea front, which allowed the six rides present to be well spaced out. The same could not be said of Merrion Square, which, as last year, had a total of twelve attractions set up in a relatively small street!
